I shut my eyes

I cover my ears

Hide under a table

Petrified with fear

While fountains fizz

Rockets zoom around

My super-keen hearing

Magnifies their sound

As bangers bang

And barrages boom

I lie trembling alone

In the living room

Though you all say

“Spectacular sight!”

I'm terror-stricken

By the blinding light
